God gives us scripture as a tool... a bible isn't something He gave us so we could let it sit in our room all year long and open it every once and a while. Scripture is the best tool we have for fighting sin and spreading the gospel... so get in there.
Proverbs 7:1-3
"My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart."
